Account transfer

  • Can I still use the same account details as I used for Abtipper, Transkripto or Uitgetypt to log in to the Amberscript platform?

    Not immediately. To make it as easy as possible, we have already prepared an Amberscript account for you with the same email address as your previous account. This account will only be activated when the Terms & Conditions have been accepted and a new password has been created. To do this, please use the link provided in the information email.

    The new account will give you access to the Amberscript platform, where you can continue uploading your files.

  • Can I also create a new account myself?

    Yes, if you rather make use of a different email address, you can use this link to create a new Amberscript account.

    Important: Did you share custom requests with us for previous projects? Please contact our Customer Support via [email protected] to transfer the custom requests to your new account. Check for more information the answer to the question: Can my specific requests/guidelines still be honored?

Access to files

  • What happens with my latest uploads?

    Recent orders that you have placed via Abtipper, Transkripto or Uitgetypt will be processed as usual. From September 2nd 2025, we kindly ask you to upload new files via Amberscript. The files uploaded via Abtipper, Transkripto or Uitgetypt will be available for the standard period of 30 days after delivery. After this period, it will not be possible to download the files anymore, as per usual.

  • Will my “older uploads” (before September 2nd) be deleted?

    Transcripts that you have ordered before September 1st will be available for download in your Abtipper, Transkripto or Uitgetypt customer account for 30 days as per usual. Afterward, they will be deleted, and it will not be possible to restore them. Please make sure to download the transcripts as soon as they are ready.

  • How long do I still have access to my files?

    You have access to download your files for 30 days from the day of delivery. As per usual, and in line with our data security policy, the files will be deleted irreversibly.

     

Data Security & Privacy

  • Where is my data stored?

    We’ve implemented robust security measures to protect, store and handle your data. All data is securely stored in Western Europe (Frankfurt, Germany), ensuring compliance with strict regional privacy laws.

    The data of your uploads and the generated transcripts, captions, and translations will never leave Europe.

  • Is my data being used for training purposes?

    No, the content of your uploads is never used to train the language models that generate the transcripts. You don’t have to take any action, this is the default for all our customers.

Quality & Service

  • Will the quality or the service provided change?

    Delivering high quality transcripts and subtitles is a top priority at Amberscript. We work with a specialized team of language experts and quality controllers, and have a tight-knit quality assurance process in place. That way, we can ensure that we will continue to provide top-notch human-made transcription and subtitling services.

  • Will the offerings change?

    Aside from human-made transcriptions, Amberscript offers multiple additional services, including captions and translated subtitles. Next to our manual services, we also offer automatic solutions, such as automatic transcription, captions and machine-made translations. In addition to this, you will get access to our online Editor, which allows you to review and edit your files before exporting them in your desired format.

  • Will the transcription format change?

    You will be able to select the file format in which you want to download your files. We offer formats such as Word, RTF, JSON, Text and CSV. For transcriptions, we also offer two different styling options: standard and academic. You can select a style when exporting your transcript via the Editor or via your dashboard.

    In the standard styling, the timestamps are on a separate line before the speech, and the timestamp format is hh:mm:ss. The standard styling is a universal format that is easy to read, simplifies navigation in the media file, and works for any use case.

    In the academic styling, the timestamps are in the same line at the end of the speech, and the timestamp format is #hh:mm:ss-ms#. The academic styling is useful for qualitative data analysis and compatible with tools such as MAXQDA or f4transkript.

  • Which transcription guidelines will be used?

    We use standard Amberscript transcription guidelines. Read more about our Transcription Guidelines.

  • Can you transcribe according to different transcription guidelines?

    Yes, we also offer Clean Verbatim and Full Verbatim transcription following the Dresing & Pehl transcription guidelines. It is possible to select this option during the order process. For any other custom guidelines, please reach out to our Customer Success team before placing your order. Our team is happy to assist you with special requests and see if we can process it through our platform.

  • Will the turnaround time change?

    At Amberscript, we offer a turnaround of 5 business days for a transcription. If you need it faster, you can select Rush delivery to receive your transcript within 1 business day. This comes with an additional Rush fee.

  • Can my specific requests/guidelines still be honored?

    Yes, if you have an ongoing project with specific guidelines set up, the special requests will still be honored. However, this is only possible if your Amberscript account is set up with the same e-mail address you used for your previous account at Abtipper, Transkripto or Uitgetypt.

    To ensure that this is the case, we have already set up an account for you with the same email address. The only thing left to do is to create a password via the link in the email you received. This ensures that your request will also be implemented for uploads on the Amberscript platform.

  • I did not find the guidelines I needed. Can I request specific guidelines for my project?

    If our standard transcription guidelines are not matching the requirements of your project, please contact us before you upload your files. Our team will support you and verify if your special requirements are feasible. Please note: Change requests that are sent after the files are already uploaded cannot be implemented, since our team will already be working on your project.

  • Can you process files that are shared via cloud/external link?

    No. We intentionally choose not to offer uploads via Cloud or external links as this is proven to be less secure compared to a closed environment. We kindly ask you to upload all your files in your own Amberscript dashboard.   • What if I have issues uploading a file in the customer account?

    If you have any issues with your upload and our troubleshooting steps cannot resolve it, [please contact us]. If possible, include screenshots of any error messages to help us investigate the issue faster.

Pricing

  • What happens to my current signed contract?

    Your current contract will not change, meaning that the pricing will also stay the same. When you upload files on the Amberscript platform, it can happen that you will see a different pricing then was discussed before. Please contact [email protected] so we can solve this issue for you.

  • Will the price stay the same?

    If you have an ongoing contract, the price for new uploads will stay the same. When the contract ends, our standard prices will apply. As we understand that the price difference can have an impact, we have added a coupon code to the information email with a discount of 25% for your first upload.

  • Why is the price different on the new platform?

    The price on the Amberscript platform is based on the service that is offered and all-in-one. This means high quality files, an Editor to use for final edits and multiple file formats that can be downloaded, for example. Additionally, there are no added costs for extra speakers or audio quality.
