A third of them are completely deaf. These people face&nbsp;many challenges in their day-to-day lives, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Dependence on interpreters&nbsp;when interacting with others<\/li><li>Using sign language as a primary method of communication<\/li><li>Inability to participate proactively in discussions &amp; meetings<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"image-block-wrapper\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"860\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.amberscript.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/accessory-adult-aging-1251174-860x720.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-45653\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.amberscript.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/accessory-adult-aging-1251174-860x720.jpeg 860w, https:\/\/www.amberscript.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/accessory-adult-aging-1251174-573x480.jpeg 573w, https:\/\/www.amberscript.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/accessory-adult-aging-1251174-768x643.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.amberscript.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/accessory-adult-aging-1251174.jpeg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 860px) 100vw, 860px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Due to these problems, most of the abovementioned people are excluded from vital parts of social life, namely communication with peers. Amberscript is about to change that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HOW ARE WE GOING TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We came up with a viable solution \u2013 creating an app&nbsp;that would help hard-of-hearing people to participate in daily conversations. 90% of people that we surveyed would appreciate having such an app and would use it on a daily basis. This means that there is sufficient demand on the market for such a product.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"image-block-wrapper\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.shortpixel.ai\/client\/to_avif,q_glossy,ret_img\/https:\/\/www.amberscript.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/image002.gif\" alt=\"company sidn fonds logo\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Recently we received a subsidy from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sidnfonds.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SIDN fonds<\/a>, an organization that supports innovative digital products&nbsp;aimed at making a social impact. We are going to use this additional funding to develop the app for iOS and Android&nbsp;that can perform live transcription. This also requires adjustments in our current language models to secure good performance, even in noisy conditions.
