What is AmberScript?
AmberScipt is an AI-based transcription tool and service. Using our own state-of-the-art speech recognition, we provide you with editable scripts that can easily be searched and shared.

We believe that technology and AI are forces of good that improve the world. We try to contribute to that by building technology that helps the world to become more inclusive for the handicapped and more productive for everyone. As language scientists, we set out to create a better world.

How does AmberScript work?
Using our world-leading speech-to-text engines, we convert your audio/video file into an editable transcript. We then present it in an easy-to-use interface that glues the transcript to the audio timeline so that you can use our nifty interface to search, highlight and edit individual parts of the transcript. You can also use our human transcriber to do the improvements.

How can I improve the transcription quality?
We use the best speech engines in the world. However, having reasonably high-quality audio to work with increases accuracy. In our blog you can read about how you can easily improve your audio quality tremendously.

What is your ‘direct’ service?
With our direct service, we give you the output of our speech to text engines which you can improve yourself in our editor.

How is AmberScript used to create subtitles?
You can upload a video, edit the texts to improve the subtitles, and then export the subtitles. This will save you tremendous time in creating subtitles.

I am not happy with the quality of my transcription, what can I do?
The quality of the transcriptions is closely related to the quality of the audio. We offer a trial version so people can try out our tool for free first. If the quality of the transscription is not satisfactory, this may be because the audio quality is not high enough. In this case, improve the sound quality, as described in our blog. We are not responsible for the consequences of uploading bad audio and can not return any money for this.

How much does AmberScript costs?
We offer 3 different options:
1. A subscription: with this option you pay a low amount per hour and you get 5 hours of credit per month, after which you pay the same low amount per hour.
2. An hour: with this option you pay for each hour of audio you transcribe.
3. A minute: with this option you pay per minute. Your audio will be automatically transcribed at first and then it will be corrected by a professional transcriber to guarantee 100% correctness.

How does AmberScript’s subscribtion work?
When you order a subscription, the money will be immediately deducted from your bank account after registration. Your hours of credit will also be credited to your account immediately. You can now start transcribing audio files. The same thing happens on the same day of the following month. The subscription has a minimum length of 2 months. You can cancel your subscription after 1 month.

How does AmberScript write off money from my bank account with a subscription?
Example:
You start a supscription on January 2nd, the money will be immediately deducted from your bank account and you will now be able to transcribe 5 hours of audio. On february 2nd the money will be deducted from your bank again and the hours will be added to your account. Unused hours in the month of January will be transferred to February. If you use more hours than with your subscription, the money for the extra hours will be deducted from your bank account the following month. This will happen at the same time the money for the subscription is debited. You pay the same price per hour for these extra hours as for the rest of your subscription

Is it possible to get my audio files transcribed without having a subscription?
We offer 2 payment options which are not subscription based:
1. Payment per hour: we charge per hour of uploaded audio file. You upload your file and you can improve it manually yourself.
2. Payment per minute: we charge per minute of uploaded audio file. With payment per minute we will first automatically transcribe your file. After your file has been automatically transcribed your file will be checked and improved by our profesiional transcribers. With this option we guarantee 100% accurrate transcriptions.

How can I cancel my subscription?
Unfortunate to hear that you want to stop with AmberScript, we hope you have been satisfied with our services. If not, we’d love to hear how we can improve!
Below are the four steps you can follow to stop your subscription:
1. Log in to www.amberscript.com
2. Navigate to your account
3. Click on the tab: “Subscription”
4. Click on unsubscribe

What happens when I cancel my subscription?
If you cancel your subscription, no more money will be debited in the future. You can continue to use the hours that you have left. After you have canceled, you can still buy more hours at a discount for the rest of the month.

Do I keep my transcriptions after I have canceled my subscription?
Yes, after you have canceled your subscription it is still possible to open your transcriptions in your account. However, your transcriptons can be automatically deleted after 6 months. We will inform you about this at least a week in advance, so that you have the time to save your transcripts yourself.

How do my unused hours pass on to the next month?
With AmberScript you pay per hour of uploaded audio. If you have not fully used an hour, the unused minutes will be moved to the next month.

Are AmberScript’s transcriptions verbatim or clean read transcriptions?
AmberScript’s transcriptions are verbatim. This is the most comprehensive form of transcribing. Later you can edit your transcript to create an edited transcript. With our manual transcription service we can also create an edited transcription for you, both in verbatim and clean read. Verbatim is our default, please indicate if you need clean read. How safe are my files with AmberScript
We greatly appreciate that you trust us with your audio files and we will do anything to preserve this trust. None of the audio files or transcripts will ever be sold or made accessible to AmberScript’s staff, third parties or companies. Only, if you want your transcription to be reviewed and improved by a human transcriber, the file will be read by that transcriber. The transcriber will never share this information with others. We can always sign a NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) or DPA (Data Processing Agreement). If you have any questions about our privacy policy feel free to mail us at [email protected]

How long do you save my data?
All data is kept for at least 6 months if you don’t delete it. After 6 months, we will inform you at least 1 week in advance if your data will be deleted (this includes your transcriptions). When your data or account is deleted, your data is deleted immediately. For more information about deleting your data, please contact [email protected]

How can I remove my account?
If you want your account removed please contact [email protected] We will then remove your account.

What happens to my data when my account is deleted?
When your account has been removed all of your data will instantly be removed from our servers. For more information about your privacy, see our privacy policy. For more information about deleting data, please contact [email protected]

Do I keep my transcriptions after my account has been removed?
No, when your account is deleted it is no longer possible to open the transcriptions from your account. This is becase all your data has been removed from our servers when your account has been deleted. You will not lose the transcripts you have saved somewhere yourself.

Is it possible to get an 100% accurate transcription?
Yes, with our manual transcriptions it is possible to get 100% accurate transcriptions. Unfortunately automatic transcriptions will always have errors in interpunction and words. When you are unstatisfied with the result of an automatic transcription, it is possible to have your file improved by a professional transcriber. The money for the automatic transcription is refunded. Example: you had half an hour of audio transcribed by our software for amount X, but you are not happy with the result. Therefore you have the file manually checked and improved by a professional, for this manual transcription you pay amount Y. Amount X is refunded.

Why should I use AmberScript instead of a normal transcription service?
AmberScript uses state-of-the-art speech engines who transcribe your audio files as accurate and fast as possible into text.
Manual transcription is an extremely time-consuming process. We know, because we’ve been there! An alternative to doing manual transcripts yourself is outsourcing to third parties. This, however, is expensive as its all done by hand. AmberScript offers an alternative that’s way, way more efficient and thus cheaper!

Our state-of-the-art speech engine delivers results much faster than real time. So an hour-long audio file will take you only minutes to transcribe. Just upload your audio into our system and we will notify you as soon as the file is ready!
